If you have found your way here, you have arrived at the beginning of something that has actually been around for a long time.
UnexplainedMedia.NET was created around an interest in the strange, unusual, mysterious, and sometimes downright unbelievable stories that surround us. Stories about things that don’t always have easy explanations. Stories that make us stop and ask questions.
Now, after years away, UnexplainedMedia.NET is being rebuilt and brought back to life.
The goal of the new site is simple: to explore the unexplained.
That can mean many different things.
It can be a mysterious disappearance, an unexplained photograph, an unusual historical event, a strange creature, an urban legend, a bizarre coincidence, a forgotten piece of history, a strange place, or a story that has been passed from one generation to another.
Some stories may eventually have perfectly reasonable explanations. Others may remain mysteries.
And that’s part of the fun.
UnexplainedMedia.NET isn’t here to tell you what you must believe. Instead, we’re interested in looking at the stories themselves—the history behind them, the evidence that exists, the explanations that have been proposed, and the questions that remain.
We’ll also be taking a look at some of the older mysteries that helped make subjects like these so fascinating in the first place.
Some of the stories may be familiar.
Others may be completely new to you.
And every once in a while, we may find ourselves asking a very simple question:
What if the story is true?

Looking Back: UnexplainedMedia.NET Through the Years
This new version of UnexplainedMedia.NET is also an opportunity to look back at where the site came from.
Fortunately, portions of the original website were preserved by the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine, allowing us to revisit earlier versions of UnexplainedMedia.NET and see how the site looked and what it contained during its earlier years.

These archived versions are more than just a look into the past. They provide a historical record of UnexplainedMedia.NET and help preserve the story of the site as it begins its next chapter.
The new UnexplainedMedia.NET won’t simply try to recreate the past. Instead, we’re taking inspiration from it while building something new for today’s web.
