Released in 2003, Out of the Blue is a feature-length documentary directed by James Fox that takes an in-depth look at the UFO phenomenon and some of the most well-known unexplained sightings on record.
Narrated by actor Peter Coyote, the documentary features interviews with eyewitnesses, military personnel, astronauts, government officials, scientists and UFO researchers. Among the subjects explored are famous cases and the continuing questions surrounding what governments may know about unidentified objects.
Rather than focusing solely on UFO stories, Out of the Blue examines the people who witnessed these events and the evidence and testimony surrounding them. The documentary ultimately asks a much larger question: Are all UFO sightings the result of misidentifications and natural phenomena, or could some represent something that we still don’t understand?
